Colfax Persimmon Festival, Stafford Family Farm, Colfax, North Carolina:

The Colfax Persimmon Festival located in Colfax, North Carolina, is an annual November event.  The first ever Colfax Persimmon Festival was held Saturday, November 8, 2008 with over 1000 people attending.  It is a celebration of the persimmon harvest, local craftspeople, traditional events, fresh apple cider, and LOTS of local food.  It is held at the historic Stafford Farm, 558 N. Bunker Hill Road, Colfax, NC 27235, on the old family farm of photographer Gene Stafford.  Colfax is located in central North Carolina near the junction of Interstate 40 and Highway 421, roughly half-way between Greensboro and Winston-Salem.  Proceeds go towards saving a family farm and preserving the local cultural heritage.  A noble purpose indeed.  If you go, please consider shooting some pictures and send them this way.  I'd be happy to load them here.
